Professor Camero has a B.B.A. with concentrations in accounting and finance from Saint Mary's College, where she graduated summa cum laude. She obtained her CPA in 1999 and practiced as a tax consultant for several years with Arthur Andersen in Chicago. Professor Camero then earned her J.D. from Northwestern University, where she graduated cum laude. While at Northwestern, she received the Arlyn Miner Book Award for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing and was notes editor for the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology.
Upon graduation, Professor Camero worked as an associate attorney in commercial finance at Jones Day and later at Katten Muchin Rosenman, both in Chicago. She then spent three years as assistant general counsel for Brunswick Corporation in Lake Forest, Illinois.
Prior to joining Southern Illinois University School of Law, Professor Camero was a teaching fellow at Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
