Faculty Advisor: Assistant Professor Jennifer A. Brobst
Since 1979, the Journal of Legal Medicine has served as one of the nation's longest standing academic publications in the area of law and medicine. As a peer-reviewed journal of the American College of Legal Medicine, an association comprised primarily of members with dual M.D. and J.D. degrees, the Journal of Legal Medicine offers in-depth discussions of a broad range of topics, including health law and policy, professional liability, hospital regulation, food and drug law, public health, and bioethics.
Indexed in national and international databases, the Journal is circulated throughout the world. Articles contained in the Journal have been cited by state and federal courts, including the Supreme Courts of Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The journal is published quarterly by the American College of Legal Medicine in partnership with the Southern Illinois University School of Law, with law student commentaries and editing assistance.
