SIU Law welcomes new students

The members of the Class of 2018 came to SIU Law from 24 states, one foreign country, and 64 undergraduate institutions.
To the classroom they bring their experiences in jobs including: corrections officer, senior credit analyst, educational leadership consultant, certified nursing assistant and phlebotomist, law enforcement officer, teacher, sales director, certified pharmacy technician.
Eleven hold graduate degrees in fields including English literature, healthcare management, business administration, criminal justice, nonprofit leadership, legal studies, public administration, and civil engineering.
Some have served the United States through the military reserves or active duty.
They have volunteered their time with local youth as tutors and athletic coaches and with organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, United Way, American Cancer Society, and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
As they concluded their orientation activities on Friday, they worked together at a volunteer service project for Giant City State Park.
