Student Profile - Boyd
Dylan Boyd (Class of 2021)
Dylan Boyd has made the most of his 3L year at SIU Law by winning the Intramural Moot Court Competition and serving as Editor-in-Chief of the SIU Law Journal. He cites his experience working in the insurance industry after his undergraduate program at Illinois State University with helping him realize that he liked being someone who clients could rely on to help solve their problems, and Dylan continues to hone his problem-solving skills.
During the past year, he has been tested as Law Journal Editor-in-Chief to keep his team organized and focused in the face of pandemic adversities, and, as Saluki Lawyers do, he and the Law Journal team persevered and learned though their experiences.
A first-generation college student, Dylan reflects fondly on his experience at SIU Law as well as his desire to stay an active part of the SIU Law community: “The professors are incredibly helpful and approachable, and small class sizes have allowed me to get to know almost everyone in my graduating class and many from other classes. It’s helped me develop strong friendships and professional relationships that I hope to maintain for many years to come.”
After graduation, Dylan will return to Tucker Ellis LLP, the firm of his 2020 summer internship, in St. Louis in September where he plans “to soak up as much knowledge as possible so that I can provide high quality service to clients […] and to be someone that clients and my colleagues can rely on to perform.”
