Intellectual Property Society Hosts Webinar Luncheon with AIPLA
Several SIU IP Law Society members joined AIPLA (American Intellectual Property Law Association) as student members for 2016. Here, several of these students can been seen viewing a webinar from AIPLA's Education Committee:
"How Do I Protect That? A Mock Client Interview Identifying Protectable IP in terms of Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights and Trade Secrets." The webinar addressed practical intersections of the different forms of intellectual property protection available to a fictional inventor for his new dialysis machine.
By viewing the mock interview between the client/inventor and his IP attorneys, the students who attended our lunch were able to see first-hand just how many different areas of IP protection can be implicated by a single invention, as well as how all of these forms (Patent, Trademark, Copyright, and Trade Secret) can work together to provide different levels of intellectual property protection for clients.
