‘Trial’ explores how race, religion, class and gender intersect and clash
The audience will hear the evidence just as if they are serving on the jury during a real courtroom battle. After the riveting trial, jurors are polled to determine if they are leaning toward finding for the plaintiff, the defendant, or if they are undecided.
The judge will then lead deliberations as jurors explain their reasons for their votes. Final votes will then be cast and tallied and the results announced.
Afterward, people are invited to stay for a post-show discussion focusing on race, class, gender, religion and the law.
Thousands have experienced Defamation
Since “The Defamation Experience” premiered in 2010, thousands of people across the United States have participated in the unique, emotional opportunity to engage in civil discourse and examine themselves, their preconceived concepts and responses, and the themes touched on by the play.
