Interested in learning more about human and civil rights laws in Illinois and the benefits of trying a case in an administrative court rather than a traditional state or federal court?

Brian Weinthal, Chief Administrative Law Judge for the Illinois Human Rights Commission (HRC), will provide a 45-minute overview of the Illinois Human Rights Act and the advantages of asserting a cause of action before the Illinois HRC on Wed., Sept. 18 at 4:30 PM.

Students take note:  the IL HRC has summer student clerkships available. As an added benefit, the most recently appointed ALJ on the IL HRC is one of the SIU Simmons Law School’s own alumni – James Shovlin.

Judge Weinthal will be joined by two of his colleagues, Tracey Fleming (the Executive Director of the Illinois Human Rights Commission) and David Larson (General Counsel). Learn more about Judge Weinthal. Learn more about his colleagues.
