Class Schedule

In July, students will receive a detailed email from the Office of Admissions with their assigned section and detailed instructions on how to access their fall schedule via SalukiNet. The textbook list and course syllabi are available a few weeks prior to the first day of class.

Orientation

Orientation, which is held the week of August 10, introduces students to the academic and organizational skills that law students must master to be successful from day one. It is mandatory for all first-year students.

Laptop Recommendation

The law school requires students to have a laptop. Students utilizing a laptop for exams will need to meet the minimum requirement for Examsoft (Chromebooks are not compatible with the lockdown feature of Examsoft).

Housing in Carbondale

A majority of our students elect to live off-campus in Carbondale or other surrounding communities such as Cambria, Carterville, Herrin, Murphysboro, Marion and Anna-Jonesboro.

The Office of Admissions has compiled a list of off-campus property managers to assist in your search. For information about on-campus housing for graduate/professional students, go to University Housing.

Campus and Community

SIU law students enjoy the advantages that come with a University that is a major research institution. There are a variety of cultural, athletic, educational and recreational experiences throughout southern Illinois that will enhance your educational experience.

There is an extensive network of support services for students and their families here at SIU and in the surrounding community.
