Andrew Pardieck
Andrew Pardieck, Professor of Law and the Law Alumni Professor
Professor Pardieck graduated from Harvard College and the Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington. Following law school, he completed a doctorate in law at the Hokkaido University School of Law, where he wrote his dissertation, in Japanese, on Japanese and U.S. securities law.
After completing his graduate studies, Professor Pardieck practiced in the U.S. and Japan. His practice in the U.S. focused on complex civil litigation, primarily product liability. In Japan, he worked as General Counsel for Temple University, Japan Campus, with varied responsibilities including compliance with corporate, education, and employment law; negotiating and drafting contracts; and risk management.
Prior to joining the faculty at SIU, Professor Pardieck was an Assistant Professor of Law for the Temple University Beasley School of Law at its Japan Campus. He has also served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Washington School of Law, Seattle, and as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington. He has published on a wide range of topics, including Japanese law and society, securities and commodities law, civil procedure, and the legal profession.
