Priscila Hernandez
Priscila Hernandez, Assistant Professor of Practice
Priscila Hernandez joined the faculty at SIU Simmons Law School in Spring 2025. As the Technical Services Librarian, Priscila is responsible for managing the law library's physical and electronic resources. Prior to arriving at SIU, Priscila worked in information governance at the Office of the Texas Attorney General and the City of Austin, where she supported programs to preserve historically significant government documents.
Priscila earned her Library Science (MSIS) degree at the University of Texas at Austin in 2019, where she specialized in records management. She also completed her Masters in Latin American History at the University of New Mexico in 2016. Priscila has worked in libraries and archives for over ten years, and was a fellow of the Smithsonian Latino Museum Studies Program.
Her research interests include critical issues in information access and management, the role of government recordkeeping in archival and legal research, and building collaborative relationships between libraries and local communities.
